All the latest news and gossip from Stamford Bridge this morning.
Chelsea are into the FA Youth Cup final after a 3-1 aggregate win against Arsenal. They defeated The Gunners at The Emirates 1-0, following their 2-1 win in the first leg, to make it to the final against Fulham.
The win was somewhat fortunate – with goalkeeper Josh Vickers having a night to forget after allowing Charlie Colkett’s attempted cross sneak under him and into the back of the net for the only goal of the game.
John Terry is reportedly facing a massive decision over his future as it emerged this morning that he will have to take a paycut to remain a Chelsea player next season.
His current deal expires this summer and because he is over 30 the board will try to shrink his wages and only offer him a one-year deal at the club.
Terry, as club captain, is expected to be unhappy with these conditions and is being heavily linked with a big money move to Turkish football with Galatasaray.
The 33-year-old is expected to make a decision on his future next month.
Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has refused to believe prized asset Luke Shaw could leave the club.
The left-back – who has been in stunning form this season – is being heavily linked with The Blues and Manchester United this summer – but the Argentine boss is adamant that no deal will be happening – stating:
“At the end of the day, Luke Shaw is a player that belongs to Southampton, and it will be the club that makes the decision as to what happens with his future. Of course there will be interest for him, but right now he’s a player at Southampton and it looks as though it will continue that way.”
