A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.
Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard has revealed he thinks he’ll be fit to play against Tottenham this weekend.
The Belgian picked up an ankle knock while on international duty this week but he shrugged off suggestions he could miss the London derby at Stamford Bridge.
“It hurt but I think I can play this weekend. After 20 seconds I got a kick. A nice welcome but I’m not worried about the injury,” he told Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.
Jose Mourinho has refused to rule out making a move for AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli.
The Italian striker has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge and Mourinho has hinted that the 23-year-old could return to the Premier League.
“In football you never know the future. Balotelli is with a big club at the moment but you never know – I’m not going to be manager of Milan or the Italy national team, but he’s a good kid and somebody I’d like to work with again,” he told Yahoo.
Another player Mourinho is reportedly interested in is Real Madrid central defender Raphael Varane.
The Frenchman has been linked with the Blues ever since he left the Bernabeu to join Chelsea for a second spell.
“I think he is the best young central defender in the world. Already I think he’s the best,” Mourinho was quoted by the Daily Mail.
