Chelsea midfielder Kasey Palmer has expressed his delight at how his season went with Huddersfield Town, and would’ve wanted to return on loan to the Terriers next season whatever league they were in, as reported by Goal.
Palmer made 27 appearances in all competitions for Huddersfield in the 2016/17 season, despite missing four months through injury, and made his comeback at Wembley in the play-off final victory against Reading on penalties.

It seems Huddersfield has had a lasting effect on the 20-year-old, who is a current England U21 international, with Palmer expressing a serious interest in returning to the John Smith’s Stadium next season, if the club are willing to take him back, according to the report.
Speaking in the aftermath of Huddersfield’s 4-3 win on penalties following a 0-0 draw with Reading, Palmer stated that he would want to return even if the club lost that match, while claiming that the play-off final victory was his best moment in football to date.

“Of course, I want to stay. To be part of it this season, I feel like I don’t want to leave it now,” Palmer said to Goal. “It is unfinished work. So hopefully we can enjoy the next few days and then the talks will begin ahead of the next season.
“I think if we would have stayed in the league [Championship] then I would have loved to have come back anyway. We have gone up so it is an even bigger incentive to come back so we will just see what happens over the next few weeks and take it from there.
“I can’t describe my feeling at the minute. To be promoted to the Premier League in my first season at 20 years old… It is the best feeling ever. My best footballing moment by far.”

Palmer had a very good season with Huddersfield in the Championship, scoring five goals in all competitions as well as assisting three times, and was seen as a key player before his injury in early February.
Huddersfield finished the Championship season in fifth – with negative goal difference – but used the lottery that is the play-offs to their advantage, and will be playing their trade in England’s top flight for the first time in 45 years next season.
