Chelsea want Marc Cucurella and are even offering defender Levi Colwill to Brighton and Hove Albion as part of the deal.

The Blues are looking to spend after Todd Boehly’s takeover and have already landed Kalidou Koulibaly and Raheem Sterling.

Jules Kounde has slipped through the net having instead chosen to sign for Barcelona, and Chelsea are turning to other targets.

Left wing back may not have looked like a key area of need after the huge outlay on Ben Chilwell in 2020 and the fact that Marcos Alonso is still at the club.

However, Chelsea are now pushing to secure a major left wing back addition.

Chelsea want Marc Cucurella

It looked like Brighton star Cucurella would be joining Manchester City with Pep Guardiola desperate to land his fellow Spaniard.

However, City have failed to meet Brighton’s asking price and Chelsea have now swooped in.

The London Evening Standard report that Brighton want £50million for Cucurella and Chelsea are in talks over a deal.

It’s even stated that Chelsea could include defender Levi Colwill as part of the deal after the Seagulls showed an interest in him.

Colwill is allegedly being valued at around £20million as part of talks with Brighton, so the deal could effectively become £30million plus Colwill for Cucurella.

Colwill, 19, has come up through the Chelsea ranks and excelled on loan with Huddersfield Town last season.

A talented left-footed centre back, Colwill has huge potential but could now go the same way as Fikayo Tomori and Marc Guehi in being sold by Chelsea.

Arsenal have shown a real interest in Colwill and Mikel Arteta was allegedly very keen to lure him across London to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

That move didn’t progress and it now looks like Arsenal will miss out with Brighton seemingly favourites to sign the defender as part of Cucurella’s potential exit.
