Thomas Tuchel told Football London that it’s ‘an honour’ talking about Tottenham striker Harry Kane after he refused to answer a question about Dele Alli.

The recently-appointed Chelsea manager was waxing-lyrical about the currently injured Harry Kane but when he was asked about his former club, PSG, being linked with Alli, he made it clear that he will ‘stick to our own team’.

On Deadline Day, half an eye was on North London and whether Alli would leave Spurs after a well-documented saga that the Ligue 1 champions wanted to secure his signature.

Well, the England international has stayed put, and whilst he won’t be involved tonight, this is what Tuchel had to say when asked about the attack-minded midfielder.

“Are you at the right press conference?” asked Tuchel. “Are you sure? I will not answer that.

“I was happy to answer about Harry Kane because it is an honour for me to speak about him being one of the best players, but with everything else, for every other player.

“I want to show respect and not talk about players of other coaches. We stick to our team, thanks.”

Unfortunately, Tottenham fans cannot call on the services of Alli, but if the Alli of old, that scored a brace against Chelsea, could return then it would no doubt elevate this currently struggling side.

Without Harry Kane linking up with his partner in crime, Heung-Min Son, Spurs are looking lost and unable to answer even the basic of questions when going forward.

Back-to-back defeats have raised questions of Jose Mourinho and he will be under serious pressure if he falls to yet another defeat tonight.
