Chelsea, Man City & Man Utd have now made bids to sign Josko Gvardiol

Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have reportedly all made bids to sign Croatia international Josko Gvardiol, with Tottenham also chasing the Croatian international.

According to Foot Mercato, the Premier League trio have all lodged bids to sign Gvardiol ahead of the January window, with City’s bid of €100m (£86m) the highest of the three offers that have been made for the 20-year-old RB Leipzig centre-back.

Gvardiol has been one of the breakout stars of the 2022 FIFA World Cup as Croatia have once again made it to the semi-finals of the competition, with the Leipzig wonderkid starting every game for the 2018 finalists as the Vatreni set to take on Argentina next week.

And as a result, interest has sky-rocketed for Gvardiol in recent weeks, with TuttoMercatoWeb recently reporting that Tottenham are one of the clubs chasing the defender. However, this latest update will be a bombshell for the north London club.

As per Foot Mercato, though, interest doesn’t stop at Premier League clubs, with Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona also chasing Gvardiol, with Inter Milan and Juventus also being named as potential suitors for the Croatian superstar.

Indeed, the race to sign the defender is heating up to a thermal nuclear level, and for Tottenham, their hopes of signing the defender now seem all but dead with three Premier League rivals making offers to sign Gvardiol in the January window.

Tottenham simply can’t compete in race to sign Gvardiol

Gvardiol’s price tag and reputation was always going to increase out in Qatar, yet few would have expected Croatia to once again go as far as they have or the defender to play such a key role in the tournament. And for Tottenham, this means they have next to no chance of signing the centre-back.

After all, Chelsea, City and United are simply too big to compete with, and with the trio now making offers to sign Gvardiol, Tottenham will find it hard to convince the youngster to choose the north London club in January over their Premier League rivals.
