HITC understands that Chelsea are continuing to push one player towards the exit door from Stamford Bridge this summer.

Former Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca has taken the reins at Chelsea and the club could be set for yet another rebuild this summer as they look to make key sales.

Academy graduate Conor Gallagher is the one that Chelsea feel they could get a lot of money for and HITC understands that Aston Villa are interested in the English midfielder, alongside Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur.

HITC now understands that defender Trevoh Chalobah is being pushed towards the exit door with the club willing to listen to offers for the defender, Gallagher and forward Armando Broja.

Chalobah not willing to leave club but Crystal Palace are keen

Despite Chelsea’s willingness to listen to offers for the defender, sources have told HITC that Chalobah is not overly keen on moving away from Stamford Bridge. The same can be said for Gallagher, who would like to stay at Chelsea and will not be forced out.

However, despite Chalobah’s reluctance to depart Stamford Bridge this summer, HITC understands that interest in the 24-year-old is strong.

HITC can confirm that Chalobah’s name has come up within the hierarchy of Crystal Palace as the club contemplate whether to agree to Chelsea’s proposal for players to be included in the deal for Michael Olise.

We reported last week that the Blues had approached Palace about Olise and there had been discussions over a player-plus-cash deal.

Manchester United and Liverpool amongst clubs spoken to

It is not just the South London club who are keen on Chalobah, HITC understands that Aston Villa, Newcastle, Manchester United and Tottenham have been spoken to about Chalobah’s situation at Stamford Bridge.

HITC is told that Chalobah is ready to assess his situation under new head coach Maresca during pre-season before making a firm decision on his future, this is despite the insistence of the club’s hierarchy that he is not part of their plans.

Last season for Chelsea, Chalobah featured in just 13 Premier League games for the Blues and started 10 of them.

With Chelsea completing the free signing of former Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo earlier this month, Chalobah’s future may best be served away from West London.
