Loaned out Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen has been speaking about Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka to Goal.com this week.

Arsenal take on Chelsea in the Premier League this evening. Both teams will be hoping that they can claim London bragging rights in this game and will want Swiss midfielder Xhaka to thrive once again.

The summer signing from Borussia Monchengladbach has made an excellent impression at Arsenal since his move from Germany. The Swiss midfielder has even shown his ability from long-range shooting.

He scored a screamer against Hull City last weekend and then again v Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup tie.

Christensen, who has been out on loan at Gladbach from Chelsea since last year, told Goal that his former team-mate would thrive in England:

“I think he will be great for Arsenal. He is a very strong personality, his word has weight in the team and he appears very confident in it.

”His playing is characterized by emotions. I think he can play a key role, if he is able to quickly get used to the English culture.

“As a person he can be both determined and focused and funny and very humorous.

“He wants to win always, living the in the square to the full. Even off the pitch he is very emotional. He’s someone you like to have around.”

So far the midfielder has been superb in the Arsenal midfield and the Swiss international will be looking to impose himself on this fantastic Premier League clash this evening.

Arsenal have needed a midfielder like Xhaka for many years and now they finally have him the Gunners fans are hoping he can push the team back toward league glory.
