Chelsea legend Frank Lampard sat down for an exclusive interview with the Times, expressing his desire to go into football management one day, whilst sharing his admiration for the job being done by Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs.
The Tottenham manager has been lauded by pundits and fans alike for the manner in which he has transformed his side from mere also-rans into perennial title challengers in such a short space of time.
The Argentine still has a lot of work to do with the Lilywhites, however, and will only really ever go down as a great if he manages to bring home some major trophies over the course of the next few years.

Lampard though, highlighted Pochettino’s ability to enjoy a friendly relationship with his players whilst maintaining an aspect of authority as something that should be applauded, during an exclusive interview with the Times:
“I want to manage. Most of my career I wasn’t sure but when I got into my thirties I became a lot more interested. Much as I’m interested in coaching I’ve just as much interest in how to deal with people. I see someone like Mauricio Pochettino and his relationship with players — like both a boss and a bit of a friend — and I love that.”

The former Southampton manager’s fine work at White Hart Lane has obviously not gone unnoticed externally, however, and there will surely come a day when one of Europe’s most elite clubs will make a move to obtain his services.
And if Tottenham truly want to join Europe’s elite list of clubs, they must do everything within their power to hold on to Pochettino, or risk losing some of their best players, should they allow the Argentine to leave.
