Ray Wilkins has his say on what Jose Mourinho will do at Manchester United.
Speaking to talkSPORT, former Manchester United and Chelsea star Ray Wilkins has stated that Jose Mourinho will make the Red Devils winners once again.
Just days after guiding Manchester United to their first FA Cup victory in over a decade, Louis van Gaal has been sacked by the club hierarchy and it has to be stated that the decision is a justifiable one.
Despite spending in excess of £250 million in the transfer market over the last two seasons, van Gaal has not brought about too much improvement at Old Trafford and the Premier League giants had become very dull to watch under the Dutchman.
It is widely expected that former Chelsea boss Mourinho will be the man replacing van Gaal at the helm of Manchester United and the fans are certainly excited at the prospective arrival of the Portuguese tactician.
Wilkins said: “I think it is the right move. It is the only move for them. He will get them playing again and he will get them winning again.
“He is a winner, there is no two ways about it. When he goes to a club, normally he wins a big trophy within the first couple of years.”
The first thing Mourinho will be tasked with doing is revamping a squad that needs additions in most key areas, most notably bringing in a world-class striker and a creative midfielder.
