The former England captain has the perfect opportunity to bow out at the right time, he shouldn’t waste that by going to West Brom or Bournemouth.
Chelsea’s John Terry in action
When John Terry goes to lift up the Premier League trophy on Sunday with Chelsea, it’ll be yet another crowning moment in a truly incredible year for the Blues – and it could get better for both if they win the FA Cup final, securing a domestic double.
It’s been a well known fact for some time that Terry will be leaving Chelsea, and it has emerged that West Bromwich Albion and Bournemouth are potential suitors, as reports the Telegraph, though Terry himself hasn’t ruled out the possibility of retiring anyway, as reports BBC Sport.
That is exactly the decision the 36-year-old should make, as there is nothing on this earth that West Brom or Bournemouth can offer him that will provide him with a better moment to end his career on than the situation Chelsea have now.
Terry’s last league game for the Blues will result in him lifting the league trophy, while his last domestic game for Chelsea could see him lift the FA Cup – there aren’t many better ways to end a glittering career than that.
Chelsea’s John Terry is thrown in the air by team mates after the game
Why go through the motions for a midtable at best side for a year or two, with the faint hope of maybe getting to the quarter-finals of a cup – and have people comment on how you weren’t the player you were in the process – when you can have a magical send off that most would dream of?
Mr. Chelsea, Captain Leader Legend, a one club man…it makes absolutely no sense for Terry to sign for anyone else in England, as it would just tarnish his legacy in the same way Rio Ferdinand did when he signed for Queens Park Rangers.
