The Telegraph’s Matt Law has now spoken about Gvardiol and Chelsea Reporter claims Chelsea would ‘definitely’ like to sign World Cup star amid cunning Spurs planon the ‘London Is Blue’ podcast.
Law noted that Chelsea would ‘definitely’ like to turn their move for RB Leipzig star Christopher Nkunku into a double move for Gvardiol too.
Law believes Chelsea’s new ownership really like Gvardiol and their recruitment team – which will seemingly feature former RB Leipzig chief Christopher Vivell – really like Gvardiol.
A deal would only really become possible at the end of the season but Chelsea are eyeing their move in a major dent to Tottenham’s hopes.
“Chelsea would definitely like to do it, there’s no doubt about it,” said Law. “If they could do it, they’ll try and do it. They have liked him for a long time, he has been scouted by the club before the new ownership, the new ownership like him.”
“I’m told the people within the recruitment setup that’s coming together like him, I think they’ll watch him very carefully at this World Cup but yeah, I’m pretty sure they’ll be trying to do that deal. Not for January, I wouldn’t have thought, but for the end of the season,” he added.
