The Chelsea striker would be a useful addition for Everton.

Marco Silva the head coach

Everton seem to have all the makings of a really good side, and a top six finish doesn’t seem to be a million miles away next season.

One glaring hole in their team, however, is their lack of a clinical centre-forward.

Marco Silva must address that problem in the summer, if he is to guide his Toffees side to a top six spot, and a useful option for them would be Chelsea hitman Michy Batshuayi.

Goal reported last month that Everton were interested in signing the Belgian, and he possesses all of the attributes that Silva’s side currently lack.

The 25-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan with Crystal Palace, and his future at Chelsea looks bleak, with Olivier Giroud and Gonzalo Higuain currently ahead of him in the centre-forward pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

Michy Batshuayi of Chelsea looks on during The Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round match between Chelsea and Newcastle on January 28, 2018 in London, United Kingdom.

Batshuayi is incredibly quick, and his pace would enable Everton to really stretch the opposition, creating more space in the middle of the park for their technically gifted midfielders to operate.

The Belgium international, who joined Chelsea for £33 million three years ago (Goal), still has a lot to prove at the very highest level, so he would surely be incredibly hungry to succeed at Goodison Park.

Quite how much Chelsea will demand for Batshuayi remains to be seen, but Everton should test the west London outfit’s resolve nevertheless.

Michy Batshuayi of Chelsea arrives during the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Chelsea at Selhurst Park on October 14, 2017 in London, England.
