Mohamed Salah is in the form of his life at Liverpool.
Liverpool hero Mohamed Salah is in the form of his life, scoring 28 Premier League goals in 30 games.
The Reds forward is flying and fulfilling the potential which first brought him to the Premier League in 2014.
He signed for Chelsea then, and it was a spell which did not work out, but praise from defender Branislav Ivanovic when he joined the club very much stands out today.
Ivanovic told SkySports he felt Salah was reminiscent of Dutch international Arjen Robben.
He said: “He is a great player, we know him because we played him in the last two years, four or five times.
“With the ball he is very quick, very smart with his movement, the kind of player that we need in the squad. He reminds me of Robben, the way he plays always going from the right wing but going inside left-footed.”
Salah did not perform well at Chelsea, but at Liverpool he is making up for that.
The Egyptian’s goal tally this season has already topped Robben’s personal season best by a long way.
Robben’s highest tally in a league season was the 17 goals for Bayern Munich in 2014/15.
Salah’s season at Liverpool will go down in the record books, but if he wants to be held in the same regard as Robben he must ensure his career has the same consistency as Robben’s has and he stays at the top of his game.
Staying put at Anfield is likely to be the his best option to do so.
