Ramon Vega has stated that money doesn’t guarantee you success as he used Chelsea as an example when talking about Tottenham Hotspur’s current situation.
The former Tottenham player stated that Chelsea are in ‘trouble’ after spending big-money during the previous two transfer windows, finishing in the bottom half and then being forced into a ‘fire sale’ this summer.
There is a lot of anger towards those running Spurs and Vega told the powers that be to fix up or ‘resign’ and get fresh new faces in, as he told The Last Word on Spurs.
Daniel Levy is head of the castle and on many occasions last season, there were calls from the fans in the stands for him to go, alongside ENIC.
The possible sale of Harry Kane to Bayern Munich isn’t going to help because many Spurs fans feel the club haven’t matched his ambitions over the years.
Either way, heading into the new Premier League season, the club is in an emotional state and Vega had a blunt message to those at the top.

“I am more worried about the board and how they are going to support Postecoglou now in the next 3-6 weeks,” said Vega. “That’s my worry because, the last four or five years have been terrible, then what would change now in the next 3-6 weeks? You can’t just kick up four or five years of terrible transfer and who you are dealing with etc…
“Spurs fans have to look into this in the future. If the club is to go forward, then the board really, really needs to improve massively and how to manage that club, not in terms of financially, they have done that very well.
“Money doesn’t buy success. Look at Chelsea, they have got into trouble. They have spent £600 million and what have they got? They have had a fire sale pretty much now the whole summer to get the balance.
“Money doesn’t count. It’s pretty much knowledge. Experience. And network within the industry. These are the three factors that need to happen within Spurs, if they don’t improve that, then the board has to think to resign and get a really proper management into place.”

Things won’t improve unless Levy leaves
It has been over two decades since Levy has sat in the Spurs hotseat, and whilst he has done an outstanding job with finances and the stadium, the rest has left fans frustrated, angry and fed-up.
It could be argued that Kane is the club’s greatest-ever player, yet, by the end of the month, he could leave forever with zero trophies to his name.
That is going to hurt the fans because they know Kane has given his all, but the powers that be probably haven’t backed their managers as much as they should have, especially Mauricio Pochettino.
