Chelsea fans are confused at the timing of Antonio Conte talking up Tottenham ace Harry Kane.
After spending a club record fee on a striker, what should a manager do next?
Well Antonio Conte decided that the best option is to start talking up a rival striker as his dream option. Poor Alvaro Morata.
The Premier League champions paid £67 million to sign the Real Madrid forward, The Mirror reported, after missing out on Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United.

Just a day after Morata made his Chelsea debut in a friendly defeat to Bayern Munich, Conte told reporters that his dream striker is Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
He was quoted by The Guardian among others, stating: “For me, Kane, now, is one of the best strikers in the world. If I had to buy one striker I would go to Kane. He is a complete striker.”
Kane has won the last two Golden Boot trophies in the Premier League, and the praise is justified.

It is not even a dig at new boy Alvaro Morata, but the timing seems off, and will not exactly fill Chelsea’s record addition with confidence – already suspecting he was second choice behind Lukaku despite the club’s public protestations otherwise.
Conte can be an unpredictable manager, who does not like to do things by the book. And that’s what part of makes him successful.
But Chelsea fans were left feeling rueful and confused at his comments about the Tottenham forward…
