Chelsea fans think that Frank Lampard has hinted that Billy Gilmour could start this evening.

Chelsea are set to take on Manchester United in League Cup action later today, as they look to build on the momentum that they have created in recent weeks.

Chelsea have been in fine form of late, but Lampard has suggested that he wants to give his fringe players a chance.

And Lampard’s comment that he wouldn’t take age into account, has led to many Blues fans feeling that Gilmour could be given the nod.

Gilmour started for Chelsea in the last round of the League Cup as they cruised to success against Grimsby Town.

However, the teenaged midfielder would be making a big step up if he is given the nod against United this evening.

There are great hopes about Gilmour at Chelsea, as he is considered to be one of their best up and coming prospects.

Lampard has already shown that he will give youth a chance at Stamford Bridge, and Gilmour could be one of the next youngsters to make the breakthrough at Chelsea.
