Chelsea overcame Hull city 2-0 this weekend to get another vital three points on the board.
Chelsea got back to winning ways on Saturday when they overcame Hull City 2-0 at the KC Stadium courtesy of second half goals from Willian and Diego Costa.
The Blues went into the match having lost back-to-back league matches against Liverpool and Arsenal, but they ground out the result against a resilient Tigers side to ensure they kept in the running in the title race and the battle for the top four.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte opted to once again start Nemanja Matic in the centre of the park and the Serbia international repaid him with a decent performance that included an assist.
Matic’s form has fallen sharply since his superb return to Stamford Bridge suggested he could become one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe. However on this evidence he will have a big role to play in Conte’s debut campaign.
