Chelsea overcame Arsenal in a pre-season friendly this weekend and the 20-year-old got a big chance to impress.
Chelsea picked a strong starting line-up for their pre-season clash with Arsenal on Saturday, but it was not long before 20-year-old Jeremie Boga got the chance to show what he can do against top flight opposition.
The attacking midfielder replaced Spanish international Pedro after just 29 minutes and he did not waste his opportunity.
Chelsea ran out 3-0 winners courtesy of two goals from Michy Bathusayi and one from Willian, and the second half saw plenty of fringe players given a run-out after the Blues took an unassailable lead with just 49 minutes on the clock.
Boga started his youth career at Marseille before moving to Stamford Bridge in 2009. Since then he has enjoyed loan spells in France with Renne and Spain with Granada, and on this evidence he could make an impact with Chelsea if manager Antonio Conte gives him a chance when the new campaign kicks off.
He may have to make do with cup appearances but he is unlikely to complain given the competition for places at Chelsea these days.
Boga has one cap for the Ivory Coast and he will no doubt be hoping to build on that after his fine pre-season showing.
