Chelsea overcame Manchester City in impressive fashion this weekend.
Chelsea maintained their superb recent form with a 3-1 victory against Manchester City on Saturday lunch time, courtesy of goals from Diego Costa, Willian and Eden Hazard.
The Blues were good value for their victory, which was soured somewhat in the closing stages as City pair Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho were both sent off.
While Chelsea’s goal-scorers unsurprisingly took the plaudits, Spanish defender Cesar Azpilicueta deserved plenty of his own after a standout performance.
Chelsea have looked like a different beast under new manager Antonio Conte and the full-back has played a vital role in that, featuring in a central defensive three that has offered the Blues additional stability.
Azpilicueta has never really disappointed in a Chelsea shirt but this season he looks like being one of their most important players.
