Chelsea look set to add Timo Werner to Hakim Ziyech this summer, marking an exciting start to their transfer window after no summer additions last year.

According to The Mirror (14/06, p72), Newcastle United’s potential new owners want to bring in Alonso. They have allegedly communicated their interest in a deal to the Blues.
A left back appears to be a priority for Newcastle, with Danny Rose currently on loan. Alonso could fill that position, but he isn’t the most popular player at St James’ Park.
Alonso played for their bitter rivals Sunderland, and was subsequently booed by Newcastle fans in October. Alonso scored the winner as Chelsea beat Newcastle 1-0, and then mocked the Magpies on Twitter.
