Danny Rose is a hero among Tottenham fan as a passionate player who wears his heart on his sleeve.
The defender’s recent comments about the team may have been a little too open for the liking of some fans, inviting the mockery of opposition supporters.
Rose was speaking to The Mirror ahead of this weekend’s clash with Chelsea, which he is suspended for, telling how Tottenham players cried in the dressing room after last season’s draw at Stamford Bridge which ended their title challenge.
He said: “There were people upset, crying in the changing room after that game.
“It’s a feeling that we never want to feel again as a football club. I hope everyone has learned from that and we are going to try and push on this season.”

Rose was using the comments to express how much beating Chelsea will mean to Spurs this weekend, and as inspiration for last night’s Champions League game.
That did not pan out at all well, with Spurs losing 2-1 to AS Monaco and being eliminated from the competition as a result after just five games.

The loss will puncture the good feeling around the club after Tottenham’s win over West Ham at the weekend, and they now have to lift themselves for the big game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
