Chelsea beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

Chelsea’s remarkable run of results against Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge continues after a 2-1 victory over Spurs on Saturday evening.

The Blues were hot favourites for the game having won six games in a row without even conceding a goal, but fell behind in the first half as Christian Eriksen scored his first Premier League goal of the season with a superb long-range strike.

Spurs fans were hoping to claim a victory having won just once in the previous nine games in all competitions, but Pedro equalised before half time, and Chelsea claimed the win when Victor Moses met Diego Costa’s cross to score at the back post.

The result means that Tottenham’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season is over, and also means that their torrid record at Stamford Bridge continues.

Tottenham’s last win at Stamford Bridge came back in February 1990, meaning it’s almost 27 years since Spurs last picked up a victory away at their West London rivals – and Blues fans have unsurprisingly taken great delight in that record.

Chelsea fans took to Twitter after Saturday’s final whistle to mock Tottenham, suggesting that they won’t be able to claim a win at Stamford Bridge for at least another decade as the record closes in on 30 years.

Others celebrated that they have never experienced a home defeat to Spurs, and claim that Chelsea have again proven that they are the pride of London after Saturday’s defeat.

Some fans also took great joy in ending Tottenham’s unbeaten Premier League run, and mocked them for resting players in midweek against Monaco only to lose – again – at Stamford Bridge.
