Chelsea won’t be signing Arsenal target Amadou Onana before the transfer deadline with the midfielder preferring to stay at Everton.

That’s according to multiple reports this morning as Onana has seemingly rejected a move to Stamford Bridge.

Belgian football reporter Sacha Tavolieri reports that Chelsea have contacted Onana’s entourage to offer him a move to West London.

However, it’s stated that Onana wants to stay and focus on Everton at least until the end of the season.

Foot Mercato back up those claims, suggesting that Onana has indeed rejected a move to Chelsea before the transfer deadline.

Chelsea may still have an interest in Onana but they would seemingly be wasting their time if they tried again in the coming days.

Arsenal surely won’t be signing Amadou Onana either

Onana has been the source of surprise rumours this week.

Everton only signed Onana over the summer as they forked out £33million to sign the giant midfielder from Lille.

The Belgian has blown hot and cold in the Premier League but teams can see huge potential in the 21-year-old.

The aforementioned Tavolieri reported earlier this week that Arsenal are also interested in Onana with Mikel Arteta and Edu keen on a new midfield addition.

Onana could be viewed as competition to Thomas Partey at the base of Arsenal’s midfield and 90Min claimed that Everton would sell for around £50million.

Yet if Arsenal hoped to pull off a late deal for Onana, it looks like they will be left very disappointed.

Onana is focused on helping save Everton from relegation, and he will surely know there is likely to still be plenty of interest come the summer.

Arsenal seem to be focusing on Declan Rice for the summer though, with Onana surely behind him in the Gunners’ transfer pecking order.
