Chelsea are planning a bid for Denzel Dumfries amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur – and Inter Milan want Emerson Royal as a replacement.
Tuttomercatoweb report that Chelsea are ‘back strong’ in their pursuit of Dumfries.
A deal of around €40million (£35million) is suggested with Inter desperate to keep hold of him until the end of the season.
This comes after 90Min claimed that Tottenham have already made contact with Inter to try and tee up a deal for Dumfries.
Inter are worried about losing Dumfries and are already looking for a replacement with Emerson Royal a top target.
It’s stated that Inter are trying to figure out whether Emerson would be available and how much Tottenham want for him.
This may just open up a problem for Chelsea – the possibility of Tottenham paying cash plus Emerson to lure Dumfries to North London.

Emerson in exchange for Dumfries makes sense for Tottenham
Antonio Conte is committed to playing with wing backs at Tottenham and Emerson just doesn’t fit that role.
The Brazilian has tried so hard to improve and always gives his all for Tottenham but he just isn’t a wing back.
Emerson doesn’t seem to have the decisiveness, composure, creativity or technical quality to provide a consistent attacking threat as Conte wants.
If Tottenham can offload the Brazilian for a proven right wing back, it would be almost perfect for Tottenham.
Dumfries has proven what a threat he can provide at right wing back having excelled there for Inter Milan and the Netherlands.
The 26-year-old has already grabbed two goals and three assists for Inter this season and is providing a threat for the Netherlands at the World Cup in Qatar.
A powerful wing back who can blaze past defenders, Dumfries fits the bill for Tottenham much better than Emerson – and they will hope that Inter’s interest can help them beat Chelsea.
