Chelsea won against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Chelsea defender Gary Cahill has told Chelsea TV that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli caused problems for his side.

Alli featured for Tottenham against London rivals Chelsea away from home at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

The England international midfielder started the Premier League game and played for 73 minutes.

Chelsea defender Cahill has admitted that the 20-year-old midfielder caused problems for his side in the first half.

“We knew that Dele Alli was causing us a few problems in the first half,” Cahill told Chelsea TV. “He was getting in these positions that was making it difficult. That was one thing we had to control in the second half.”

Tottenham were the better team in the first half and played some of their best football this season.

However, Chelsea stepped up their game in the second period and deservedly picked up the three points from the encounter.

The defeat in the London derby will have come as a disappointment to Tottenham, who are falling behind in the race for the league title.

Spurs do have some very good players, such as Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen, but the forms of the key figures are not great at the moment.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 24 points from 13 matches, seven points behind leaders Chelsea.
