Leeds United may have signed Matthew Pennington, but they still need one more centre-back.

Leeds United may have completed the signing of Matthew Pennington from Everton yesterday, but they still have room for another defender at Elland Road.

Leeds still only have three centre-backs available, with Pennington joining Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper at the Yorkshire club.

And if Leeds are to get through the season, they are likely to want another defensive addition.

Chelsea's Matt Miazga

Indeed, the Yorkshire Evening Post have suggested that Christiansen wants two new centre-backs this summer.

And Leeds could do much worse than making a move for Chelsea’s Matt Miazga.

Miazga joined Chelsea back in 2016, after impressing for the New York Red Bulls in MLS.

The United States international has since gone on to make two first-team appearances for Chelsea, before he was loaned out to Vitesse last season.

Whether Miazga will ever make the grade at Chelsea remains to be seen, but he is very highly regarded.

And, at the age of 22, he still has plenty of time to develop and fulfil his potential.

Leeds should now test the water to find out whether a permanent transfer or a loan would be possible, as the transfer could suit all parties involved.
