Chelsea are on the verge of signing Molde striker Datro Fofana with Fabrizio Romano claiming that he is having his medical today.
Romano has taken to Twitter to claim that a full agreement is in place for Fofana to sign for Chelsea.
It’s stated that Fofana is undergoing a medical with the Blues today and a €12million (£10.5million) move is ‘done’.
This is actually a very special day for Fofana; today marks the striker’s 20th birthday, and he can now mark it with a transfer.
The news may come as a little disappointment to Liverpool, even if they ultimately expected this move to go through.
Reports from Fratmat in Fofana’s native Ivory Coast last month suggested that Liverpool have shown an interest in signing Fofana.
However, Chelsea took the lead in the race last week and Liverpool seemingly haven’t tried to hijack the deal.

Who is Chelsea-bound Datro Fofana?
20-year-old Fofana came through the fans at AFAD in his native Ivory Coast before Molde snapped him up in 2021.
Fofana started slowly in Norway, scoring just twice in his first 26 games for Molde.
2022 was an outstanding season for Fofana though as he racked up 22 goals in all competitions and finished as Molde’s top goalscorer as they won the Eliteserien title.
Goals aplenty, a league title, now a move to the Premier League – this has been an incredibly calendar year for Fofana.
You have to imagine that a move to Chelsea was especially appealing to Fofana because of the success of his compatriot Didier Drogba.
Drogba blazed the trail for Ivorian strikers everywhere and his ties to Chelsea will have surely left Fofana dreaming of emulating Drogba at Stamford Bridge.
Fofana is a very young talent and going straight from Norway into a major Premier League minutes is something we don’t see very often.
Yet with Armando Broja now out for the rest of the season, Fofana could be seen in the Chelsea first team quicker than expected.
