After Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, Graham Potter’s Chelsea are showing interest in AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham, according to Calciomercato.

The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that AS Roma and England international Abraham, linked with Arsenal, is among the strikers Chelsea are considering brining to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have a buy-back option of €75 million (£65.60 million) for the striker they sold to Serie A club Roma in 2021.

The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners do not plan to bring the striker in the January transfer window, but they are considering triggering the buy-back option at the end of the season.

Chelsea stance on Tammy Abraham blow for Arsenal

In our view, Chelsea’s reported interest in Tammy Abraham is a blow for Arsenal in their quest to sign the England international striker.

Earlier this month, LaRoma24.it reported that although Arsenal and Aston Villa are interested in signing Abraham in the January transfer window, the striker himself does not fancy a move to the Emirates Stadium or to Villa Park right now.

The 25-year-old has scored three goals and given one assist in Serie A and has scored one goal in the UEFA Europa League for Roma so far this season.

Abraham himself wants to stay at Roma and recover his form, according to the report.

Not only does Abraham not want to move to Arsenal, but Chelsea are now considering him for next summer as well.

In our opinion, it is a massive blow for Arsenal.
