Leicester City striker Islam Slimani should consider moving to Newcastle despite interest from heavyweight Premier League clubs.

The 29-year-old joined Leicester in 2016 from Sporting Lisbon for a club record fee of £28 million, but has failed to make a strong impact.
Last season he managed only eight goals in 29 games in all competitions, and this season has managed only one goal from 12 appearances in the Premier League, although he has made only two starts.

Leicester are open to selling him, with the Daily Mail reporting last month that the Foxes are demanding £20 million for the Algeria international, but it seems a loan move is the likely option.
It remains to be seen whether the Blues at all push through with the deal, as they are lining up a move for Edin Dzeko. However, even if they do so, Slimani should reject their advances and join Newcastle instead.

According to a recent report from the Shields Gazette, Newcastle United are chasing a deal for Leicester City striker Islam Slimani. The Magpies are willing to sign him on loan, rather than on a permanent move.
If Slimani is so keen to leave the club, perhaps it is an indication that he actually wants to play regularly again. If that is the case, his chances of playing regularly at Newcastle is higher than at Chelsea.
Obviously, a move to Stamford Bridge would be more glamourous for him, but he will have to play second fiddle to Alvaro Morata. At Newcastle, he can expect regular chances.
At 29, he has plenty of football left in him, and that’s why a loan move to Newcastle makes sense for Slimani.
