Thomas Tuchel has described Leeds United fans at Elland Road as ‘tough’ and ’emotional’, as he told his Chelsea press conference.

There are set to be just over 35,000 fans inside Elland Road on Wednesday night, as Leeds can move out of the Premier League’s relegation zone if they can earn at least a point against Chelsea.

During Leeds’ last two matches, they have faced top-four opposition, losing 2-1 to Arsenal and also conceding four at home to Manchester City.

Despite that, Tuchel has praised Jesse Marsch for increasing the club’s physical input and labelled it as ‘quite remarkable’.

All season long, this all-action side have struggled to keep the ball out of the net.

But Marsch will be hoping his fellow counterpart will have one eye on their FA Cup final meeting with Liverpool on Saturday.

Either way, ahead of the match, this is what Tuchel had to say about the Leeds fans.

“I am not sure anyone is comfortable (against Leeds),” said Tuchel in response to his Chelsea players performing better away from home.

“We expect a pretty tough match. And a tough crowd. It is one of those things where we have no real solutions or explanations until now because we are aware that we have collected way more points, on the road than at home.

“Maybe it helps us (against Leeds). And the final (FA Cup) is not going to be played at Stamford Bridge.

He then added on Sky Sports: “The atmosphere will be like in a cup final or a cup semi-final – this is what we need to be ready for. We expect an emotional team, a hard-working team and an emotional crowd.”

Leeds fans could help the club survive Premier League relegation

Chelsea tonight and then Brighton this Sunday, these are the two final home games for Leeds.

The Whites are currently in the Premier League’s relegation zone on goal difference.

So, they will need a little bit extra to get out of danger because, as things stand, it’s the goals conceded column that might send them down.

But, with Leeds fans behind them, these next two games could see why the Elland Road faithful are one of the best in the business as they possibly drive their club to safety.
