Liverpool and Chelsea reportedly wanted to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon in he summer transfer window.

Liverpool’s failed move to sign Nabil Fekir in the summer transfer window has been well documented, and it has now emerged that Chelsea wanted the Lyon star, too.
According to The Express, Liverpool were close to signing Fekir from Lyon before the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia earlier in the summer.
It was reported that the 25-year-old attacking midfielder underwent a medical with the Reds, who are claimed to have pulled the plug on the move due to worried on a knee injury.
The Sun has now claimed that Chelsea wanted to sign the France international as well.
It has been reported by the British tabloid that new Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri decided against signing the star as he was able to hold on star players Eden Hazard and Willian.

Future transfer?
Both Liverpool and Chelsea have very good attacking players in their respective squads, but the Reds and the Blues can do with Fekir, who can operate as a forward as well.
Perhaps in the January transfer window or next summer, Liverpool and Chelsea could makes move for the France international, who is valued at €60.2 million (£53.83m) by the CIES Football Observatory.
