Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has suggested to Football London that he will make changes in the League Cup tomorrow, but Ngolo Kante and Antonio Rudiger won’t be used.

Kante and Rudiger are both fighting to get back to full fitness right now, but Chelsea won’t risk them in the League Cup.

Lampard has offered some of his young players chances in the competition so far.

And it seems that the Chelsea boss could turn to his prospects again tomorrow evening, as he looks to rest some of his more integral first-team stars.

“I’ve got to be aware that we haven’t changed that much,” Lampard said.

“This game may see opportunities for players who haven’t been getting minutes. [Kante and Rudiger fit?] No.”

Even though Kante and Rudiger won’t be fit for tomorrow, it seems that their returns are not too far away.

If Lampard does make changes to his team, it could be that the likes of Reece James and Billy Gilmour come into Chelsea’s team.

Both James and Gilmour were used by Chelsea against Grimsby Town in the last round of the competition, as they crushed the League Two side.

More experienced players such as Ross Barkley and Michy Batshuayi could also be given starts, as Chelsea look to keep their momentum going with a victory.
