Chelsea are eyeing Yeremy Pino as they consider the rumoured Arsenal target to be a potential signing if Mason Mount doesn’t sign a new deal.

The Blues have seen both Reece James and Mason Mount emerge as first-team stars having come through the Chelsea ranks.

It feels almost inconceivable that either of them play for another club any time soon but Chelsea aren’t completely settled about Mount’s future.

The 23-year-old is out of contract in 2024 and with the final 18 months of his deal looming, Chelsea ware looking to get a new deal sorted.

Chelsea are eyeing Yeremy Pino

For now though, Mount’s contract situation continues to loom over him and Chelsea with no deal in sight.

Mount isn’t letting this situation affect his performances though having notched two assists in the 3-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

We’re guessing that Mount and Chelsea will eventually reach an agreement but the Blues have contingency plans in place.

The Telegraph report that Chelsea have two targets in mind just in case Mount doesn’t sign that new contract.

Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini is one target whilst Villarreal talent Yeremy Pino is another player on Chelsea’s radar.

Pino, 19, has already racked up 87 appearances for Villarreal with 15 goals and six assists recorded in that time.

The Spaniard is considered to be something of a wonderkid and has the ability to play on either flank or even up front if needed.

A move to Chelsea may be something of a blow for Arsenal, who have been heavily linked with a move to sign Pino.

El Periodico Mediterraneo reported in August that Mikel Arteta had been telling Arsenal to sign Pino for months having fallen in love with his game.

The summer window ended without a deal though and Chelsea are now eyeing up Pino for a possible move to Stamford Bridge.

Arsenal aren’t in immediate danger given that Pino is just a backup in case Mount doesn’t stay put, but this is a warning that other Premier League clubs are very aware of his ability.
