Chelsea believe Arsenal target Mkyhaylo Mudryk is ‘perfect’ for their project as they consider a move for the Shakhtar Donetsk winger.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Chelsea are seriously interested in signing Mudryk.
The Blues seemingly think that he will be perfect for Graham Potter’s side.
However, it’s suggested that Chelsea will only make a move for Mudryk if Arsenal’s push for the winger falls apart.
Chelsea seemingly don’t want to try and hijack Arsenal’s deal but are just lurking behind them, ready to pounce if there is an opportunity.
Romano adds that Arsenal are still the top priority for Mudryk though, leaving Chelsea on the outside looking in.

Arsenal need to get Mykhaylo Mudryk done quickly
Arsenal’s interest in Mudryk has been rumoured for months now, going back to the end of the summer transfer window.
The Gunners submitted their first official bid last week according to Romano, offering €40million plus €20million in add-ons had been submitted.
That converts to around £35million plus £17.5million in add-ons, taking the deal up to £52.5million – but Shakhtar want even more.
Romano added earlier this week that Arsenal have increased their offer though no numbers were provided.
It’s so clear that Mudryk wants to join Arsenal.
The winger took to Instagram to show himself watching Arsenal beat West Ham and then praised Gunners boss Mikel Arteta just a couple of days ago as Arsenal beat Brighton and Hove Albion.
Chelsea are now lurking with intent and Arsenal would hate to miss out on Mudryk, especially to a big London rival.
Arsenal are still favourites here but the longer this goes on, the more hope Chelsea will have of eventually winning the race for Mudryk.
The 21-year-old has bagged 10 goals and eight assists in 18 games for Shakhtar this season and looks set for an enormous future, a future that could be in London – but who he will play for is unclear.
