Arsenal want Mykhaylo Mudryk but Chelsea are now indicating that they will better any bid from the Gunners in an attempt to win the race.

That’s according to The Independent, who claim that Chelsea have now made it clear that they will trump any Arsenal offer.

It’s stated that Mudryk does still prefer a move to Arsenal but Chelsea seemingly have hope of sneaking in and securing his signature.

Todd Boehly is prepared to blow his rivals out of the water for Mudryk, with Arsenal now left scrambling a little.

Arsenal have made two offers for Mudryk now and are still short of the asking price.

Shakhtar Donetsk want around £88million for their prized winger whereas Arsenal are around £17.6million away from that demand.

That’s a pretty hefty gap for Arsenal to bridge and if they don’t manage it, Chelsea are seemingly ready to make their move.

Arsenal losing Mykhaylo Mudryk to Chelsea would really sting

Chelsea have left Newcastle United disappointed having hijacked their deal to sign Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos.

It now looks like the Blues are willing to do it again with a deal for Mudryk.

The 21-year-old has been simply outstanding this season, racking up 12 goals and six assists in 18 games for Shakhtar across all competitions.

A rapid winger, Mudryk looks set for a huge future and Arsenal have looked like favourites to sign him for months now.

Mudryk himself has even seemed to be angling for a move to North London.

Mudryk took to Instagram to show himself watching Arsenal beat West Ham and then praise Gunners boss Mikel Arteta just a couple of days ago.

The Ukrainian wants to join up with international teammate Oleksandr Zinchenko but Shakhtar are standing firm.

This is only up to Mudryk to a certain degree and if Arsenal won’t stump up the cash but Chelsea will, Stamford Bridge may be his destination after all.

Missing out on Mudryk would hurt anyway but seeing him in the blue of Chelsea? That would be a bitter pill to swallow for Arsenal fans who are hoping for a big addition or two in their pursuit of the title.
