Tottenham Hotspur reportedly made a last-gasp bid for Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham this month.

Tottenham Hotspur failed to bring in any new signing this summer, and reports are now emerging about their foiled attempt to sign Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham.

Spurs somehow failed to bring in any additions over the summer, and fans were left frustrated at the club’s inability to provide boss Mauricio Pochettino with more firepower.

Wins over Newcastle United and Fulham have somewhat eased the tension, but reports are emerging of how Spurs missed out on a new striker on deadline day.

Goal report that Tottenham offered £25million for Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham in the final hours of the transfer window, but the Blues knocked their offer back.

Abraham, 20, has come up through the Chelsea ranks, and they were unsurprisingly reluctant to let him join not only a London rival, but also a rival for a top four place.

The 6ft 3in striker may have only scored eight times in 39 games for Swansea last season, but he has already earned his first England cap, and looks set for a bright future if Chelsea give him the first-team football he craves.

Unsurprisingly, the rumour has sparked reaction both sets of fans, with Chelsea fans praising the club’s board for swatting Chelsea away, suggesting to ‘never sell to Spurs’, though some felt that the offer would have been enticing, and others questioned just why Abraham isn’t closer to first-team football at Stamford Bridge if Spurs are so keen.

Spurs fans also had their say, with many relieved that Abraham hasn’t been signed, and others claiming a new transfer specialist is needed at the club having made a bid for a player they could never sign due to the relations between the two clubs, whilst one fan would much rather sign Chelsea teammate Ruben Loftus-Cheek instead.
