Chelsea star Eden Hazard and Manchester United striker Anthony Martial are going head-to-head to be the cover star of FIFA 17.
Chelsea and Belgium’s Eden Hazard
EA Sports, maker of the world’s most popular football simulation video game, has launched an online vote to decide one global FIFA 17 cover player.
Usually the cover features a star name from that area such as US, Europe and so on.
But ahead of the latest release of the hit game, EA has decided just to have one global star, as voted for by the fans.
Manchester United’s Anthony Martial
Belgium skipper Hazard goes head-to-head with France’s Martial as well as Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez and Borussia Dortmund’s Germany attacker Marco Reus for the prestigious honour.
EA said: “Four of the best talents in world football. One global FIFA 17 cover star. The decision is in your hands.”
Fans can vote and share each day from up until July 19 to get their favourite star on the cover.
So who deserves it most out of the Premier League duo?
Martial goes for goal
Martial law
Winner of the 2015 Golden Boy Award for the best under-21 player in Europe, Martial scored 17 goals in a fantastic first season at Old Trafford.
And that was despite being played out wide a lot of the time by since departed manager Louis van Gaal.
Having made his senior debut for France, Martial was also selected for Didier Deschamps Euro 2016 squad.
Chelsea’s Eden Hazard in action
Dangerous Hazard
The 2014/15 Premier League Player of the Year, Eden Hazard – like Chelsea – had a season to forget in 2015/16.
He went some way to repairing the damage done to his reputation with some sparkling displays for Belgium at the Euros, though, and on his day can be unplayable.
New boss Antonio Conte and his Red Devils counterpart Jose Mourinho are unlikely to be the kind of managers impressed by honours like appearing on the cover of a video game, but for Chelsea and Manchester United as clubs it is hugely significant to their global branding.
