The players on-loan from Premier League clubs impressing the most in the second tier.
The Championship is a great training ground for young Premier League players looking to make their way in the game, or more established stars trying to get back on track.
This season has been no different and here are the four loanees from the top flight who have impressed in what is often dubbed the most competitive division in European football.
Tammy Abraham
Abraham set a Championship record at the start of February when he scored his 16th league goal for loan side Bristol City, becoming the youngest player to do so in 20 years.
The 19-year-old now has 19 goals and is making a genuine case for getting regular first team action at parent club Chelsea when he returns in the summer.
Leeds’ Kyle Bartley
Kyle Bartley
The third best defensive record in the division has helped Leeds United into a playoff place and Bartley has been key to that success with his dominant displays at the back.
Often taking on the captain’s armband as well, the Swansea City loanee has helped the Lily Whites to 14 clean-sheets while only missing one league game so far this campaign
Tom Lawrence of Ipswich Town scores their first goal
Tom Lawrence
Like the Robins, Ipswich Town are hardly setting the division on fire with their overall performances, but attacking midfielder Lawrence is not letting that stop him from shining.
On-loan from Leicester City the 23-year-old has nine goals and he will be hoping that Craig Shakespeare – or whoever else takes the Foxes hot seat permanently – is keeping note.
Aidan McGeady of Preston North End in action with Toumani Diagouraga of Ipswich Town
Aiden McGeady
This has certainly been more of a case of proving a point than making a name for himself for McGeady, who is 30-years-old and has 86 caps for Republic of Ireland.
Marginalised at Everton, the winger has been helping Preston North End mount an unlikely playoff challenge with his mixture of goals, assists and skills.
