Chelsea ace Raheem Sterling has told Lad Bible that he loves watching England captain and Tottenham striker Harry Kane work on the little things to improve his game in training – with the duo likely to combine at the World Cup.

Kane, 29, comes into the tournament in wonderful form – scoring 13 goals this season. But for Sterling, it is a bit of a different story. The 27-year-old has just five goals in all competitions, in his initial 19 appearances for Chelsea.

However, his form for England at previous tournaments has made him one of the first names in the World Cup squad under Gareth Southgate. Indeed, despite the presence of Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka, Sterling is likely to start.

Asked if Tottenham star Kane is the best England trainer, Sterling was given the chance to strongly agree, agree, disagree or strongly disagree. He simply agreed, stating he loves watching Kane try to improve little things in his game.

“He’s up there, I’m talking as a forward for me. From a forward’s perspective, just little details he does to improve his game. I like to see it, but everyone trains hard. I just like seeing little things he does,” Sterling said, to Lad Bible.

Kane has one of the most all-rounded games in the Premier League. A centre-forward with a goal record of his own would normally be within the width of the penalty area, simply trying to score goals. But his range of passing is superb.

Indeed, Jamie Carragher once likened his ability to find a teammate at the same level of Kevin De Bruyne. Clearly, Kane puts in the hours on the training pitch to improve areas that he feels needs improvement – and this is one of them.

We all know he can score goals, but in the last couple of years, his assists have shot through the roof. Indeed, in the last two and a bit seasons, Kane has notched 40 of his 62 assists for Tottenham. He is more than just a goalscorer.
