West Ham United beat Chelsea in the last sixteen of the EFL Cup on Wednesday.

West Ham United midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate has told the club’s official website that they will stay humble after their win over Chelsea.
The Hammers saw off their fierce rivals in the EFL Cup on Wednesday evening, with goals from Kouyate and Edimilson Fernandes seeing them to a 2-1 win.
It was an impressive performance from Slaven Bilic’s team and extended their recent run of victories to three games in all competitions.

It sees them move into the last eight of the competition, where they will take on Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United, who beat Manchester City.
The Hammers will have to be at their best to win that game and Kouyate has insisted they will stay humble but questions why they cannot make it to Wembley.
“The most important thing for us was to get the victory and we managed to do that,” he told the club’s official website.
“We have been working hard the last few weeks and are now getting some good results. We will stay humble because we want to continue winning. Last season we wanted to reach Wembley so why can’t we do it this season.”

This game once again saw the Hammers employing their new formation, with Slaven Bilic having swapped to a back three in recent weeks.
It has been a change that has reaped great rewards, seeing them to wins over Crystal Palace, Sunderland and now Chelsea.
As a part of that switch Kouyate has had to take up a new role in the centre of defence and the midfielder says he is enjoying it.
“The new system is very good and I am enjoying the position,” he added.
“Every player has to work hard in the system and we have been doing that. The spirit has always been there.”
