Richard Keys has taken a swipe at Tottenham Hotspur on Twitter.
Mauricio Pochettino, a former Tottenham manager, suffered heartbreak on Wednesday night as Paris Saint-Germain were dumped out of the Champions League.
The Ligue 1 outfit lost 3-1 on the night despite Kylian Mbappe opening the scoring to give Pochettino’s troops a 2-0 aggregate lead.
However, a second-half hat-trick from Karim Benzema flipped the tie on its head and resulted in the former Spurs boss being eliminated from the competition, before the quarter-final.
Despite his good work throughout five-and-a-half years in North London, the 50-year-old is often criticised for his failure to deliver any trophies at Tottenham.
And here’s what Keys posted on Twitter after PSG’s defeat in Spain last night:
It’s a bit of a cheap shot by the former Sky Sports presenter, alluding to the B word – the one that rhymes with throttle.
And truthfully, PSG did throw it away at the Bernabeu, evident by their two-goal advantage at one point, but bringing Tottenham into the equation was, well, a little unnecessary by Keys.
Being dumped out of the Champions League at the second round, when you have Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar in the squad, and when you had that advantage, is a thousand miles beyond any Spursy feat that the Premier League side managed.
