Tottenham Hotspur were beaten by Manchester City in the Premier League last night.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino addressed the media yesterday, in the aftermath of his side’s 1-0 home defeat to Manchester City last night, and criticised his players’ part in the visitors goal, as quoted by Football.London.
Pep Guardiola’s men dominated proceedings in the first-half against Spurs, and it could be argued that they should have gone into half-time with more than just a one goal advantage.
Tottenham improved in the second-half, however, and took the game to City, causing the Premier League champions some real problems.
City’s goal seemed to be a wonderfully worked thing of beauty, but Pochettino disagreed.
The Spurs boss addressed the media, and explained how the goal that his side conceded was ‘cheap and poor’, as quoted by Football.London:
“I think it was a very competitive game. We conceded a goal so early in the game, so cheap and poor, that you cannot concede in these type of games. If not football punishes you.”
Tottenham don’t have any time to rest on their laurels, with their Carabao Cup clash with West Ham next up on the agenda tomorrow night, and Pochettino will surely heavily rotate his starting XI for the game against the Hammers.
