It’s been a miserable old season for Birmingham City fans. Thinks were looking up under Gary Rowett at the beginning of the campaign, and many City fans were even daring to dream of the possibility of reaching the play-offs this season.

However, after the new ownership group moved in, Rowett was quickly dispensed with, and the club turned to former Watford manager Gianfranco Zola.

And under the Italian, things haven’t gone well. After picking up just two wins, the club are now not far off the relegation zone; their season being flipped on its head.

But it hasn’t all been doom and gloom for City supporters. New signing Che Adams, who arrived during Gary Rowett’s tenure, has finally begun to blossom in a Blue shirt, after a slow start to his Birmingham career.

The former Sheffield United striker put in an impressive performance recently in Birmingham’s 1-2 defeat to Derby County, surprising many with just how strong he is for a forward of his size. Playing off a big target man like Lukas Jutkiewicz; Adams really seemed to flourish.

This kind of forward is just what Queens Park Rangers should be looking for next season. New QPR boss Ian Holloway has done an excellent job at turning the sinking Hoops around this season, and fans will be hoping the club will push on next season.

If they are going to push on, Queens Park Rangers will need goals, preferably from a striker who can play off of their big target man, Matt Smith. Conor Washington has done a good job of this in recent weeks, but Ian Holloway’s side certainly need reinforcements.

Could Che Adams be just the man? His style of play would suit QPR’s forward line perfectly, and the striker could be available on the cheap if Birmingham City are relegated at the end of the season.
