Celtic’s newest star puts himself under pressure.

Chelsea's Belgian midfielder Charly Musonda (L) shoots past Nottingham Forest's Irish goalkeeper Stephen Henderson (R) but fails to score during the English League Cup third round football...

Celtic new boy Charly Musonda’s move to the club was confirmed last night on a 18 month loan from Chelsea.

The highly rated Belgian arrives with a big reputation and hopes to finally get a run of first team football.

His blond highlighted hair shows a player keen to stand out, and he has demonstrated this with his choice of shirt number, choosing 67.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Musonda explained why he wanted the number.

He said: “I was well aware that 67 is a special number here and this is why I took this number and now it’s up to me to carry on the legend on the pitch and to enjoy it – hopefully I give the fans what they are looking for.”

Musonda’s decision puts a little pressure on himself to perform – but Celtic should be very confident that the winger can live up to his potential.

The 21-year-old’s extended loan gives him time to grow into his role and show why he has been tipped for the very top since his mid-teens.

Musonda added: “I have heard so many good things about the stadium and the fans, so it’s going to be unreal to play at Celtic Park.

“I am really excited and I can’t wait for it. “This is a massive club, with 60,000 fans at the games and you don’t get that everywhere.”
