Arsenal youngster is impressing at Charlton.
Move over Chuba Akpom, the brightest striker in Arsenal’s academy is promising talent Stephy Mavididi.
Mavididi is on his first stint out on loan, recently signing for League One side Charlton Athletic.
Last night he started as the Addicks lost 1-0 at home to Oxford United, and while he did not score, he turned in a mesmerising performance.
The 18-year-old was making his second appearance for the club, and made a major impression as he led the line.
Mavididi struck the post with one effort and caused problems for Oxford’s defence all evening with his ability to run with the ball and put opponents on the back foot.
The teenager is an England under-19 international and has a chance to really make a name for himself between now and the end of the season, with worn down Charlton fans crying out for a hero.
Already he has made a more positive impression than Yaya Sanogo did in his ill fated loan at The Valley last season, with fans tipping him for the very top.
Here is a look at how Charlton fans reacted to his display…
