MK Dons boss Karl Robinson was furious, telling the BBC that Sanogo should be banned for the rest of the season, speaking after the 0-0 draw.
The Frenchman has quickly gone from hero to zero, now facing a short suspension for a team which really needs him as they battle relegation from the Championship.
Sanogo had shown signs of his promising talent by scoring a hat-trick against Reading late last month, but has undone all that good work with his red card.
He needed a strong end to the season after a disappointing loan at Ajax, and his mixed performances at Charlton will make his chance of making it at Arsenal even harder.
