Charlton Athletic face Wigan Athletic this weekend.

Charlton Athletic manager Lee Bowyer says he wanted to sign Kieffer Moore and Jamal Lowe this summer but his side couldn’t afford the pair who joined Wigan Athletic instead, South London Press report.
“He [Moore] is one I would take – but we couldn’t afford him. I would have taken the pair of them but they were out of our price range,” Bowyer explained.
“[Lowe] is a good player. He is in a different position now, playing behind the front men, and he looks good there.”
Bowyer will know all about the duo having faced them in League One last season.
Moore was among Barnsley’s top scorers last season, netting 17 League One goals. He joined Wigan in the summer for a £3 million fee, according to the Daily Mail.
Jamal Lowe’s performances at Portsmouth seemingly caught the eye of several Championship clubs. The News claim Millwall saw a £1.5 million bid turned down for him, with Pompey holding out for £3 million.

Wigan eventually snapped up the winger who netted 15 goals at Fratton Park last term.
While Charlton boss Bowyer may feel it was a blow to miss out on the duo to the Latics, his side head to the DW Stadium this weekend looking like a side who may haven’t suffered any headaches as a result.
The Addicks are currently third in the Championship table having won four of their seven games. Wigan, meanwhile, are down in 21st position with just five points on the board.
