Leeds defender says there was more to the story behind his move to Burnley.
Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor spoke out this week for the first time since his controversial exit from the club.
Taylor quit Leeds when his contract expired at the end of the season, and signed with Burnley.
What really caused acrimony was the manner of his exit. Taylor missed the final game of the season, with The Sun reporting he was fined two weeks wages after refusing to play.
Taylor insists there is more to the story.
He told the Yorkshire Evening Post that he felt the reaction to his exit was a little unfair, although he stopped short of explaining what actually happens.
He said: “There are two sides to every story and the one that was out in the media wasn’t the truth.
“I will go into more detail one day about that. I couldn’t really get my point across and it didn’t really end on great terms or how I wanted it to end.
“Hopefully I can clear that up one day.”
Unfortunately for Taylor, until he actually states his side of the story, there will be little sympathy.
These days it is so easy for players to post messages on social media and get their side across, just by picking up their phone.
The left-back had nothing to lose after his contract ended, and departing without a public goodbye left a bad taste.
