Lewis Cook and Sam Byram have struggled to make an impact in the top flight and Taylor could struggle too at West Brom.
West Brom are on the verge of signing Leeds United left-back Charlie Taylor, according to The Sun, but is the Elland Road youngster leaving at precisely the worst time and for precisely the worst team?
A number of impressive youngsters have bid farewell to Leeds in recent seasons with prodigious central midfielder Lewis Cook and exciting right-back Sam Byram both departing for the Premier League in 2016 alone.
And it looks increasingly certain that Taylor will join them in the top flight with The Sun claiming that The Baggies are close to agreeing a deal for a player who has made the left-back berth his own under Garry Monk this season.

However, it’s not only Taylor’s decision to leave that can be questioned but the choice of club too.
After all, the 23-year-old is a regular starter in the best Leeds United side in recent memory, a team who have a genuine chance of reaching the play-offs for the first time since 2005/06.
Therefore, being part of the squad that earned Leeds’ place back in the Premier League after a long and agonising wait would ensure Taylor would forever remain in the hearts of the club’s impressively loyal fanbase.
Furthermore, West Brom boss Tony Pulis is hardly renowned for his embrace of the modern, attacking full-back.

The likes of Christian Gamboa, Sebastien Pocognoli and Brendan Galloway have all found their path to the first team blocked by the former Stoke City boss’ preference for deploying sturdy, athletic centre-halves on the flanks.
Therefore, Taylor is hardly signing for a manager who will appreciate his talents – unlike Monk.
